The Prama Institute is a conference and retreat center located on forested hilltops and grasslands surrounded by the Appalachian Mountains. It sits in Marshall, NC, near the French Broad River, about 25 minutes outside Asheville, NC. Our scenic and peaceful surroundings create the perfect place for educational conferences, yoga retreats, workplace seminars, and other events.

Besides the high-quality conferences that the Prama Institute organizes all year round, the facility is also available for rent to all types of groups, organizations, and businesses. Our experienced staff is available to offer you assistance with event planning, marketing, and registration. Let us assist you in creating your own successful workshop or seminar.

We also host a Native American “Elder-in-Residence” at each Gathering.

Nights of Celebration & Conscious Music
As the sun sets, we celebrate together. First, we gather around the fire circle where, via storytelling and video footage, we travel together through our books where you meet the Native America, Mayan and Rastafarian Elders and hear their messages of unconditional love for all. Our evening parties follow with performances by conscious recording artists including, Laura Reed & Deep Pocket, Roots Nation, Chalwa, Robanic, Tim Robinson, Songs of Solomon, Julian Abey, Black Rebels & more. Afterwards, there are drumming circles and our One Love Coffee Shop stays open late.


The Roskind family has organized and hosted 80+ free One Love Events at schools, prisons, Native American reservations and public venues in Jamaica and the U.S. All gatherings feature Jamaican and American conscious recording artists and carry the same core message: we are here to learn and teach love. They have also produced an award-winning PBS series and have authored 7Bob books that carry a message of unconditional love - One Love

www.deerfields.com Deerfields is located 20 minutes south of Asheville, North Carolina in the Mills River Community (directions). The private retreat is a 940-acre family-owned tract of unspoiled wilderness offering camping, swimming, and hiking. Cascading through the Queens Creek Mountains of the Appalachia, the land is surrounded by ponds, apple orchards, and rhododendrons.

Interested in an Intentional Community? Earthaven Ecovillage and Southern Dharma are a few communities in our area.

The Practice Community at Southern Dharma (PCSD) is an intentional sangha or practice community developed adjacent to Southern Dharma Retreat Center (SDRC) where individuals with a spiritual practice can live, retreat, study and meditate with the support of others.

The PCSD consists of ten sites or "holdings" that are divided into three clusters along the Dharma Path. Seven of the ten holdings are now owned. These holdings consist of five completed cabins, one pre-existing cabin, and one cabin under construction this Fall 2005.

Earthaven Ecovillage is an aspiring ecovillage in a mountain forest setting near Asheville, North Carolina. We are dedicated to caring for people and the Earth by learning, living, and demonstrating a holistic, sustainable culture.

Since 1995, we have grown to 60 full members--from young children to a great-grandmother--and we expect to grow to 150 people. We are building homes in 14 neighborhoods and developing on-site businesses as part of our own village-scale economy.
