Iraq Body Count is a display of over 3,700 white flags on the UNCA quad to represent the number of American soldiers that have died in the Iraq war thus far (since we ordered the flags, unfortunately even more casualties have occurred).

Victor Chiarizia's glass is well-known for its technical innovations, organic forms and spirited colorations. His most acclaimed work includes The Botanicals, a series of sculptures with flameworked glass which is treated with multiple applications of enamels to give luster and luminosity to the vines, blossoms, fruit, human hands, and other elements that cling to amorphous hot glass vessels.

Our gatherings are created by all in attendance, the talents and arts they bring, and wonderful people who donate their time and energy toward coming together every month!

Each full moon we gather from dusk until dawn to celebrate the cyclical, cosmic interplay of life through music, dancing and ritual under open sky . Our purpose is to experience joy, to heal ourselves through movement and to embody the truth of each moment through sound. Every gathering is an opportunity for us to practice living and breathing at a higher vibration, to acknowledge our unity of spirit and to ground this collective experience through our bodies and into our daily lives. We invite you to co-create this experience with us.

We share a cultural identity that is rooted in a global, social phenomena beyond specific musical genres or religious associations. As we continue to grow, we will communicate and collaborate with our larger community around the world, celebrating our differences as well as our unified purpose to heal and to manifest The Vibe.

$10 per person goes toward water, fruit, tea, decoration, tp, warm weather campground rental, indoor space rental, equipment costs, generator/gas, and all the factors that allow us to create, share, and sustain the Asheville Full Moon gatherings in their ever evolving community.

Our goal at ASA-WNC is to bring about legislation in the State of North Carolina to protect cannabis patients, their doctors and caregivers from arrest. Further, as these laws change, it is our goal to provide quality control to state dispensaries through our NC Cannabis Patient's Network to maintain clean, safe standards for our patients.

We plan to join with thousands of others and petition congress on a national level to reschedule cannabis so doctor's can write prescriptions for patients that may benefit from it's use, and to provide researchers with a safe, legal supply.

We must end the misinformation, the propaganda and the bad laws.

    IVAW Storms UNCA

I have finally calmed down. There was an action in the Highsmith building of UNCA today. I arrived to be a quiet observer and film the action. It happened a little after noon today and now, at a bit after 2pm, I have finally calmed down.

Soldiers in camo and full gear stormed the student building across from the downstairs cafe. A handful of SDS students posed as Iraqis sitting in their home. As the soldiers swept the room, they screamed, "GET THE FUCK DOWN, DOWN ON THE GROUND NOW! MOVE! NOW! MOVE IT YOU STUPID BITCH!". A crowd started to gather, as it was lunchtime anyway. The Marine recruiters who had a table set up near by, acted like nothing was happening.
